The Grasser Racing Team is entering a new era with the Lamborghini Temerario GT3. With the successor to the legendary Lamborghini Huracán GT3, the Austrian team supported by Lamborghini Squadra Corse is taking on a new challenge in the two strongest GT3 championships in the world. In the DTM, TGI Team by GRT will once again take on the GT3 elite with Lamborghini Factory Drivers Mirko Bortolotti and Maximilian Paul. In the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup, the duo will be joined by another top-class driver from the Lamborghini squad in Franck Perera.

After eleven unforgettable years with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3, the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 will follow in its large and, above all, successful footsteps in 2026. Right on its debut in 2015, the first GT3 car of the Italian sports car manufacturer from Sant’Agata Bolognese proved to be victorious in the hands of GRT. In the following years, Gottfried Grasser’s outfit went on to claim 27 more victories and countless class wins in DTM, GT World Challenge Europe, ADAC GT Masters, and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, including successes in the endurance classics at Sebring, Daytona, and Spa.

With the support of their long-standing team partner TGI, GRT is set to continue this success story this year. The TGI Team by GRT races an entirely new development in the form of the Temerario GT3. Based on the Lamborghini Temerario, both the chassis and the engine of this racing car are derived from the road-legal super sports car. The new customer racing car is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that delivers 550 hp, depending on the balance of performance. The chassis, which has been completely redesigned compared to its predecessor, offers enormous advantages especially in endurance competition, thanks to its modular construction.

Three accomplished GRT drivers line up for TGI Team by GRT in 2026

In the DTM, GRT is once again teaming up with the well-accomplished Mirko Bortolotti, who will be driving the Temerario GT3 in the most competitive of all GT3 series. The 36-year-old Italian was already part of the manufacturer’s line-up when Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s GT3 program was launched in 2015 and has also been racing for GRT from the very beginning. Since then, he has contributed a total of 19 victories for the Austrian team. In 2022, driver and team made their joint debut in the DTM and kept the title challenge open until the final race. In the 2024 season, Mirko Bortolotti was crowned DTM champion and is now returning to the team for a new attempt.

In Maximilian Paul, the driver who secured GRT’s first triumph in the DTM, is also making his comeback. On his debut at the Nürburgring in 2023, the German drove to a sensational victory in torrential rain. The 26-year-old has been competing in Lamborghini racing cars since 2021 and this year was appointed Lamborghini Factory Driver. In the DTM, he scored another podium finish at Zandvoort last year. He competed in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the first time last season. In 2026, he will again take part in the championship, this time for GRT, complementing his DTM program with the team.

Alongside Mirko Bortolotti and Maximilian Paul, Franck Perera will be behind the wheel for TGI Team by GRT in the prestigious endurance championship of the SRO Motorsports Group. The 41-year-old Lamborghini Factory Driver has been part of the Italian team since 2018 and most recently competed for GRT in the Endurance Cup in the 2024 season. Two years ago, he provided an unforgettable highlight with his breathtaking pole position lap at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, setting the current GT3 circuit record in the process. In addition, he has also competed successfully for Grasser Racing in DTM, ADAC GT Masters and IMSA SportsCar Championship in the past.

Home advantage for the Grasser Racing Team at the DTM season opener

For TGI Team by GRT, the new age with the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 begins with the season opener in the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup from April 11 to 12 at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France. Five events will be held in the endurance championship again this year, including the traditional highlight of the season, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps from July 24 to 28. Further venues include Monza, the Nürburgring, and Portimão.

In the DTM, GRT will kick off the season with their home race on the weekend of April 24-26. The championship, which is staged by the ADAC, will hold its 2026 season opener at the Red Bull Ring for the first time. For Grasser Racing and the team’s partners, the races on the Grand Prix circuit, located just ten kilometers from the headquarters in St. Margarethen, are an annual highlight. As always, the other rounds of the championship will take place on Germany’s iconic circuits: Lausitzring, Norisring, Oschersleben, Nürburgring, Sachsenring, and the finale at the Hockenheimring are on the schedule. Adding to these, there will be an event at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Gottfried Grasser, Team Principal: „We are proud to be embarking on a new era with Lamborghini this year. After more than a decade with our beloved Huracán GT3, we are looking forward to the Temerario GT3. We got a good first impression during the tests, but there are still several areas which can be improved on. With our line-up, we feel perfectly positioned for the upcoming learning year. Mirko, Franck, and Max are three long-standing associates of GRT. Each of us knows the qualities of the others, and we all know what to expect from one another. With the Temerario GT3, Lamborghini has designed a state-of-the-art, latest-generation GT3 car, and we are confident that we will be able to achieve good results right from the start. The DTM and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup are two absolute benchmarks in GT3 racing. We will get to know the new car in both sprint and endurance racing in the toughest of competitions. With our drivers, we are up to the challenge in every aspect. Mirko is an integral part of the success story of Lamborghini and GRT. We fought for the title in the DTM right from the start and are ready for revenge. Max, as our team’s first DTM winner, is also an important part of this story. He will make a strong team with Mirko in the DTM. We have been close friends with all of our drivers for years, and that applies to Franck as well. He also is a stalwart as both an athlete and a human and thus perfectly rounds out our team for the Endurance Cup. The same applies to our friends at TGI. With their enthusiasm and passion, the Kaltenegger family supports our ambitions in this sport and has been loyally at our side for four years now. I’m thankful to TGI and our family at Lamborghini Squadra Corse, who make all this possible.“

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini Squadra Corse Head of Motorsport: „The partnership between Lamborghini and Grasser Racing Team has been a cornerstone of our GT3 success story. Together, we shaped the legacy of the Huracán GT3, from our first victory in Monza in 2015 to the back-to-back wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2018 and 2019, and most recently the triumph at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2025. After eleven successful years, renewing our trust in GRT was a natural decision. In 2026, we begin a new chapter with the Temerario GT3. Competing together in both DTM and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup represents an exciting challenge at the highest level of GT racing. We look forward to continuing this journey with GRT and our factory drivers, aiming to build the next era of success for Lamborghini in GT3 competition.“

Mirko Bortolotti: „I am delighted to be back with GRT and to be taking on the new challenge with the Temerario GT3 together. We have celebrated countless international successes together in the past and, with this combination, we also achieved the team’s best result to date in the DTM. We want to build on that, but we also know that for now the priorities will lie elsewhere with the new car.“

Maximilian Paul: „I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to compete with GRT in the DTM and GT World Challenge Europe. Going into the season with this team alongside Mirko is the best possible scenario for me. Driving a Lamborghini from GRT again is something very special. We celebrated our first victory together in the DTM back then and have always maintained a close relationship. Gottfried’s trust means a lot to me, as does that of my other supporters, without whom I would not be in this fantastic position today. Above all, I would like to thank TGI and my long-standing partner Meyle for their support.“

Franck Perera: „I am incredibly happy to be entering my ninth year as a Lamborghini Factory Driver and to be driving for GRT again. This team has always meant a lot to me throughout my time with the manufacturer. For me, there could be no better way to start this new chapter with the Temerario GT3. With Mirko and Max, I have two fast teammates at my side in the Endurance Cup. We have all the ingredients to write the next success story with the new car. I would like to thank Lamborghini Squadra Corse and GRT, as well as all the sponsors, for giving me the opportunity to be part of this.“

Helmut & Katarina Kaltenegger, TGI AG Founders & Principal Shareholders: „We are delighted to be teaming up with the Grasser Racing Team again for the new DTM season – as TGI Lamborghini Team by GRT. This year is a special one for us: two brand-new cars, two new drivers and, in addition, a third TGI Lamborghini in the GT World Challenge. We are proud of the strong partnership we have enjoyed over the last three years and are excited to see what our golden rockets and the highly motivated team will achieve this season. We are looking forward to a successful start, thrilling races, and many shared highlights.“
