Gottried Grasser, like many other race drivers, started his career in 1988 in karts. Contrary to many others, Gottfried prepared his karts himself without help from his father or others.
Later via Formula König he joined Formula 3 team of former Formula One pilot Piercarlo Ghinzani where he is now competing against seven current Formula One pilots or test drivers like Vitantonio Liuzzi, Timo Glock, Robert Dornboss, Markus Winkelhock or DTM Star Gary Paffet.
His racing career in the Formulas was ended in the European Minardi Junior Team where Gottfried got the chance for a contract in Formula One – unfortunately he lacked the funds to join the Formula One team where Fernando Alonso started his career.
Some of his best results where runners up at the FIA GT world championship as well as top five results in toughest Formula 3 racing series of the word.
Early 2003 Gottfried Grasser took over the car trade from his parents, where he is working up to now.
Once infected by the motorsports virus, Gottfried could not be saved anymore. In 2004 he aquired an Ultima “street edition” but after only a few kilometers Gottfried realised that this car needed racing.
Therefore the Grasser-Racing-Team was founded. Within 1500 working hours the Ultima became a purebred racer with more than 700 HP. Gottfried Grasser manufactured and assembled every single part by himself. And finally after 3000 kilometers of testing: The first races were to be run in 2005.
Grasser-Racing reached results they had never dreamed of themselves. One First, one Second, one Third, four class victories, three fastest rounds – in only four races!!
Gottfried Grasser was awarded the title “Ingenieur” by the republic of Austria! Gottfried Grasser manufactured and assembled every single part by himself.
For 2006 the Euro GT series resulted in remarkable fifth place in the European Championship versus Ferraries, Porsches, Vipers and Co.
In future various races are scheduled by Grasser-Racing. The Grasser Ultima received better aerodynamics and, after a successful search for sponsors, is going to show his rear to many other supersports cars!
